Letter from Zairah Harris to Amanda Clute
May 19, no year
Zairah writes that she was amazed to receive a letter from Luci (perhaps Ozellah Clute) and will respond as soon as she is able. She has been sick and confined to bed for nearly fourteen months, though the rest of her family (excepting her mother) is well. Her father wishes that Amanda would send him some butter, as he cannot find it for a reasonable price. Her father has not looked so well for some time, although he is very busy. She talks about her cousins and how they are all leading wicked lives, and then says her own brother is a very good, well-liked boy, despite living with his cousins. She wishes that Amanda could visit them more often and says that her family is sending love.
