Letter from Chapin A. Harris to a sister (probably Amanda Clute)
January 5, 1842
Chapin A. Harris says he has prayed for his sister's health and that he would like to come see her sometime soon. He says that while helping their ill brother he became indebted, but is now working his way out of debt. Founding the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery and the American Society of Dental Surgeons also contributed to his financial issues, but they are doing great good and will soon be worth it. He mentions that he has little free time because he is editing to health and dental journals and starting a dictionary of dental science. He wishes that he were home working on the farm, and passes along news of his family.
