This black and white photograph depicts David Walter sitting at a desk in 1897. The image is a slightly blurry but he appears to be taking notes out of a book that is on the desk in front of him. He is wearing glasses, a dark suit, white shirt, and patterned tie. There are other books, a gas lamp and a white, decorative table covering over the wood desk which is sitting in the middle of the room. There is a patterned carpet covering the floor and a pattered set of curtain covering a shelf. There are small figurines surrounding the molding around the doorway in the background. There are also several framed photos on the walls including a framed diploma from Detroit Public High School.
