Summary |
This DVD is volume 66 in a series called Outstanding Leaders in Dentistry, which explores leadership of people who have significantly contributed to dentistry. This is an interview with Richard G. Shaffer, who talks about his life and career in dentistry. He is best known for having a distinguished Navy Career, serving ashore, afloat and overseas, he was selected and served for 6 years as Chief of the Navy Dental Corps. He was the first Navy Dentist to command a major medical facility, the National Naval Medical Center which included the President’s Hospital at Bethesda, Maryland. Following his Navy career, in 1989 he was selected as the Secretary General of the International College of Dentists and Registrar of the U.S.A. Section. where he served for 10 years. He has continued to serve as chairman of several ICD Committees. The interview was conducted and published on DVD around 2006. Runtime- 1:01:20 |
