2. Newsletter - Volume 10, number 1 of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry's DENTALUM newsletter (formerly known as "Alumni News"), published in Spring 1993. The newsletter is bound with staples, and the text is printed in black ink, with the exception of the newsletter's title, cover text, and some interior headings, which are printed in red ink. The newsletter contains forty-four black and white photographs, a submission form for news items for the upcoming issue, and a map graphic showing where the Alumni Board of Governors lives. 24 pages, not including the interior back cover, which contains photographs are the map graphic. The cover contains the newsletter's logo, with the "UM" in "DENTALUM" in block stencil letters, and a left-aligned black and white photograph of two individuals working in the biosafety level 3 lab. To the right of the photograph, the following is printed: "Dr. Kauko Makinen's Xylitol Research / Department News / Dentistry Developments Fundraising Update / Michigan's National School Ranking."
