1. Newsletter - Spring/Summer 2001 issue of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry's DENTALUM magazine. The magazine is printed with staples, and most of the text is printed in black ink, with the exceptions of the cover text and some interior headings and emphasized text, which are printed in blue, gold, or white. The magazine contains above fifty black and white photographs, two reprints of x-rays, a calendar of events, a nomination form for the Dental Hygienists' Alumnae Association Outstanding Alumnae Award, a nomination form for the Alumni Society's Board of Governors, a submission form for news items for the upcoming issue, and an advertisement for a new fundraising effort. 64 pages. The front cover is mostly black, with a white field on the upper fifth portion. The white field contains the magazine's logo, with "Dental" italicized and "DentalUM" printed in dark blue and outlined in yellow. The black portion contains a yellow-orange sphere, which itself contains graphics of DNA helixes, chemical formulas and molecules, and an open mouth. At the upper left corner of the sphere, "THE CENTER FOR THE BIORESTORATION OF ORAL HEALTH" is printed in yellow, and at the bottom right, "Collaboration in Research" is printed in white. The back cover is solid black, save for mailing information and an empty white box. 2. Newsletter - Volume 8, number 2 of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry's DENTALUM newsletter (formerly known as "Alumni News"), published in Fall 1991. The newsletter is bound with staples, and the text is printed in black ink, with the exception of the newsletter's logo and an interior extracted quote, which are printed in golden ink. The newsletter contains two color photographs, twenty-eight black and white photographs, and a submission form for news items for the next issue. 19 pages. The front cover contains the newsletter logo--the "UM" in DENTALUM appears in block stencil letters--and the text "School Hosts National Conference on Black Dentistry / story on page 6." Two color photographs, both from the conference, one of keynote speaker Dr. Audrey Manley and one of a meeting, appear on the cover. The back cover contains a black and white reprint of the School of Dentistry's class of 1941 composite photograph.
