The front cover contains a color photograph of the School of Dentistry class of 1940 at their fifty-year reunion, and the back cover contains a reprint of the class of 1940's black and white composited photograph. Inside, the text is printed in black ink, with the exceptions of some headings and the text on the inner back cover, which are printed in gold ink. The newsletter is bound with staples and printed in black ink, with the exception of the newsletter logo, cover text, and an interior extracted quote, which are printed in dark blue ink. The "UM" in DENTALUM is printed in block stencil letters as an homage to the U of M (University of Michigan).
