  1. Newsletter - Volume 10, number 1 of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry's DENTALUM newsletter (formerly known as "Alumni News"), published in Spring 1993. The newsletter is bound with staples, and the text is printed in black ink, with the exception of the newsletter's title, cover text, and some interior headings, which are printed in red ink. The newsletter contains forty-four black and white photographs, a submission form for news items for the upcoming issue, and a map graphic showing where the Alumni Board of Governors lives. 24 pages, not including the interior back cover, which contains photographs are the map graphic. The cover contains the newsletter's logo, with the "UM" in "DENTALUM" in block stencil letters, and a left-aligned black and white photograph of two individuals working in the biosafety level 3 lab. To the right of the photograph, the following is printed: "Dr. Kauko Makinen's Xylitol Research / Department News / Dentistry Developments Fundraising Update / Michigan's National School Ranking."   2. Newsletter - Volume 11, number 2 of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry's DENTALUM newsletter. The newsletter is bound with staples, and the text is printed in black ink, with the exceptions of the newsletter's logo and some interior headings, which are printed in purple ink, and mailing information on the back cover, which is printed in white. The newsletter contains twenty-eight black and white photographs, as well as a ballot of the Alumni Society's Board of Governors, a graph displaying trends in grant awards, a registration form for an alumni reception at the upcoming ADA Annual Session, and a submission form for news items for the next issue. 24 pages, not including the interior back cover, which also contains text and two photographs. The front cover contains the newsletter's logo, with "DENTAL" in block purple letters and "UM" in block stencil letters outlined in purple, as well as one large and two smaller black and white photographs of dental school faculty, staff, and students in the school's new Periodontics/Prevention/Geriatrics lab. Except for mailing information, the back cover is solid purple, as is the left edge of the front cover.
