1. Newsletter - Fall 1999 issue of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry's DENTAL newsmagazine. The newsletter is bound with staples, and the text is printed in black ink, with the exceptions of the cover text and some interior headings and emphasized text, which are printed in white, blue, or gold. The magazine contains one color photograph, seventy-three black and white photographs, a map of the University of Michigan central campus, a program schedule, a graph showing an increase in patient visits, a submission form for news items for the upcoming issue, and an announcement for a reception at the upcoming ADA Annual Session. 60 pages. The front cover is entirely comprised of a color photograph of School of Dentistry Dean William Kotowicz, with two men standing on either side of him. All three men are wearing suits and smiling, and they are standing outside. Kotowicz holds an open leather binder in his hands. The newsletter is bound with staples, and the text is printed in black ink, with the exceptions of the newsletter's logo and some interior headings, which are printed in blue ink, and mailing information on the back cover, which is printed in white. The newsletter contains twenty-eight black and white photographs, three figures representing fundraising progress, an announcement for the Midwinter Meeting of the Chicago Dental Society, and a demographic profile of the School of Dentistry's incoming class of 1994. 24 pages, not including the interior back cover, which also contains text. The cover features the newsletter's logo with DENTAL in block blue letters and UM in white stencil letters outlined blue. Beneath that is a black and white photograph of the Visiting Committee's meeting featuring Dr. S. Timothy Rose, Dr. Nelson Smith, Dean J. Bernard Machen, and Dean Henry Fields (of OSU). The front cover's background is pale blue. The back cover is solid darker blue, as is the left edge of the front cover. The front and back covers are dark blue. The front cover contains the magazine's logo, with "DENTAL" in white and "UM" in yellow, and a large color photograph of two donors, a man and a woman, to the Campaign for Michigan. Beneath that, in the lower right corner of the front cover, is a black and white photograph of a child receiving dental care and the text "Celebring 75 years of Dental Hygiene at Michigan" in white. The back cover is solid dark blue, save for mailing information. At the center of the back cover, a white label has been pasted over an addressee's information.
