1. Model, Anatomical - This moulage is a sculpted, hollow model of the front of the head of an infant with a cleft palate. Current dental faculty said it was probably used as "a demonstration of anatomy for a cleft." Dr. Sean Edwards said he has heard that "Dr. Jim Hayward (James Rogers Hayward, b. 1920) used to take these before his primary lip repairs." He described the patient's lip in more detail as a cleft lip that is complete on the left and incomplete on the right. Alternately, in the scrapbook from the Cleft Palate Program (1930-1935 or later) at the School of Dentistry, we thought a photograph from April 26, 1930 could be of the baby whose face this cast was modeled from, if indeed the model was made at U-M. Found on a shelf in off-site storage, fall 2019.

2. Newsletter - Volume 11, number 3 of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry's DENTALUM newsletter, published over the winter of 1994/1995. The newsletter is bound with staples, and the text is printed in black ink, with the exceptions of the newsletter's logo and some interior headings, which are printed in blue ink, and mailing information on the back cover, which is printed in white. The newsletter contains twenty-eight black and white photographs, three figures representing fundraising progress, an announcement for the Midwinter Meeting of the Chicago Dental Society, and a demographic profile of the School of Dentistry's incoming class of 1994. 24 pages, not including the interior back cover, which also contains text. The cover features the newsletter's logo with DENTAL in block blue letters and UM in white stencil letters outlined blue. Beneath that is a black and white photograph of the Visiting Committee's meeting featuring Dr. S. Timothy Rose, Dr. Nelson Smith, Dean J. Bernard Machen, and Dean Henry Fields (of OSU). The front cover's background is pale blue. The back cover is solid darker blue, as is the left edge of the front cover. The newsletter contains thirty-four black and white photographs, a registration form for the International Fluoride Symposium, announcement about the upcoming homecoming and Midwinter Meeting of the Chicago Dental Society, a submission form for news items for the upcoming issue, a nomination form for the Alumni Society Board of Governors, and a map graphic showing where the Alumni Society Board of Governors lives. The front cover contains the newsletter's logo, with "DENTAL" in block red letters and "UM" in block white stencils letters outlined in red, as well as three black and white photographs of Dr. Thomas Graber receiving an honorary degree. The background is pale pink. The back cover is solid dark red, as is the left edge of the front cover.
